Building work on Europe’s first artificial surf reef has been completed on Boscombe Seafront, Bournemouth putting Bournemouth firmly on the UK surf map.

The surf reef acts as a ramp – pushing waves upwards, doubling their size and improving their quality for surfers. As a result, the number of good surfing days should be doubled. The reef will also enhance the water sports currently on offer including kite-surfing, kayaking, SCUBA-diving, sailing and skim-boarding.

Bournemouth Surf School, situated on Bournemouth Beach, is currently the only National Governing Body (BSA) approved surf school on the south coast and closest surf school to London & the Sorted Surf Shop operating on Boscombe Seafront also offer surf lessons and board hire.
